Alma a scary doll story

Skipping along the narrow streets of Paris went a girl named Alma - it was her birthday. Alma wrote her name on the whiteboard in the middle of the street, like all the young kids before her.

Suddenly she heard a loud creaking noise. It was a doll, but not any ordinary doll. It was a doll that looked just like Alma. She was amazed that it looked just like her, it was like glancing straight into a mirror. Alma wanted that doll. She tried to open the toy shop’s door but it was no use. She became frustrated and threw a snowball at the window. Just as Alma was going home the door creaked open.

Running in to the shop with excitement, Alma stopped and had a look around. Tiptoeing to the doll on a shelf, she knocked over a little boy on a bike. Alma picked the little boy up on the three wheeled bike the boy spun circles around Alma and he took off and smacked his head in to the door.

Looking for the doll Alma climbed onto a sofa leaning against a shelf filled with dolls. Searching around for the doll, she spotted sight of the doll and reached her arm out to grab the doll. Zapppppp! Alma couldn't move, she could just move her eyes. She had turned in to her doll. Then there were creaking sounds. Another young girls doll appeared.

Charlie and the chocolate factory

Walking through the thick snow Charlie found one dollar in the gutter. It wasn’t often that Charlie and his family would have or find any money.
Charlie ran straight to the chocolate shop. Charlie cleared his throat to get the shop owner’s attention “I would like a bar of chocolate” Charlie said. The shop owner helped Charlie decide which Chocolate bar he would buy.

Charlie was so busy wolfing down a Wonka’s Scrumdiddlyumptious, that he forgot to pay. Upon realising, he handed the money to the shopkeeper.

Heading to the door Charlie had enough change to buy another chocolate bar. “I think I will buy a normal wonka bar for my grandpa Jo. He said.

“Did you know that the last golden ticket was a fake” said the man behind the counter. Charlie had a chance to get the golden ticket afterall. He ripped the first wrapper and slowly ripped the bottom wrapper. Charlie caught a glance of the golden ticket and quickly put the wrapper back over the ticket. He had a better look at the rare ticket. “The boy’s found it, the last golden ticket.” the crowd around the newspaper stand all jostled just to see the last ticket “Leave the boy alone” a man said “Go run home and don’t stop til you get there”.

Bullfighting

Thud! “Yuss” the bullfighter yelled. Roar!! The crowd went wild. “First jump since I broke my neck”(the bullfighter said in his head) Thud Thud Thud Thud. Wooosh! The bullfighter pulled his red cape from his belt.

There was crazy amusement in the arena but no one knew that the bull was getting angrier by the minint. Murcielago (the bull) stopped and ran to the other side of the arena and turned around and ran at Luis (the bullfighter). Crunch! Murcielago stuck his horn through Luis’ back.

The ambulance came a few minutes later and Luis swore not to bullfight ever again. And that day Murcielago was set free into the wild.

Bombing gone wrong

On a sunny day at the Point England beach there was a boy that was bombing into the water.
I liked their bombs because they could do big bombs for little boys. I was wondering if I could join them but I didn't have any swimming togs.

As I watched one of the boy bomb dramatically he hit his head and his friend helped him out of the water and he was holding his head. He was bleeding. I ran down to help him “are you ok?” and just before he got to say anything his mum came to see if he was ok. I heard sirens coming down the road. It was the ambulance I didn’t know that boys bombing would turn into a boy going to the hospital.

Cross country recount

Today we practiced recrafting a piece of writing. The first paragraph belongs to Aldora and the second is mine.

“Cross country, Cross country” is the worst event ever. I would never dream about cross country. Today is cross country and I am not feeling good. But I  just want to support my team TE ARAWA.  “GO TE ARAWA” I said quietly to myself.

This is my version of Aldora's story

Cross country “Why me?” I sat nervously. I didn’t know if I could win or if I might fall in the mud. I took a big breath and remembered the race from last year. I then knew what my goals were, I just hoped I would win.

Cross Country Practice

“Cross country practice” Miss King said ow do we have to yes if you want to be fit for the real cross country you're going to have to.

Once we arrived at the big court all team four was there. We sat in a line

“Now listen up” Miss Garden said, we have made a new course. Just when Miss Garden was going to say another word Mister Somerville said“the foot path is blocked off”.

Ok change of plan we are just going to run up to Mister Marks around him, cross the road and then up River Side Road

“Room 13” Miss Garden said I took off but I didn’t want to run because I didn’t want to waste my breath.

My friend Moses and I were running together I could hear feet pounding the pavement I thought I was going to give up but I didn’t.

I could then see Mister Marks I thought that it was easy.

Running past Mister Marks I forgot that I had to run around him. “Brandon” he said “you've got to run around me”

Catching up to my friend I noticed that I was running past my house.

I was now up to Miss King there was cars coming “stop” said Miss King, while we were jogging on the spot. The cars went past “Go!” Just running up the road I noticed that I was almost finished.

I felt great I thought that it was short I felt much fitter. My goal is to beat my score. I can’t wait for the next cross country practice.

In 1896 the Pheidippides run was revived and called a marathon.
Now in the Olympics they do a marathon it is the last event in the Olympic games.

My group's art reflection

PT England's New Art Gallery

Today we had the first look at the new art gallery and we filmed it for Mr Burt because he is in San Diego. But the art that caught my eye was Meleane To’a she had done a Jackson Pollock.
I thought that it looked realistic and cool.

As I walked around I could see a lot of different styles like picasso and collage and shading. It was like a maze it was dark but the dark made our art stand out, especially room 13’s art because it was bright and colorful. It was fun looking at all the art our school are artists.

“ROOM 13” Miss King shouted “Now you have had a look at all the art, it is time to choose what is the best art”. And I picked Meleane To’a’s, art it was the best. “Now you have chosen your favorite piece of art you keep it in your head until we go to class and write about it!”

Kiwi kick

Kiwi kick
Kiwi kick is a game something like rugby but the rules are different because in rugby you can’t be in front of the kicker and they pass different like the drop punt.People that come to a lot of schools around New Zealand and teach them how to play and they have come to our school this is the second time they have come to our school I’m not very good at it because I’m used to rugby. “The first strategy you need to know is the drop punt”Sam sead(The instructor) and straight away I started to listen a drop punt is a pass I was confused because it was a kick and Sam showed us how you do one and Sam sead lasers away from faces.

“Get a team of two and once you get a partner sit back down every one have a partner” Yes OK every one go and try it. It looked easier than it was because I couldn't kick the ball straight at my partner purr the weasel got blown. There was some thing to learn it was the hand pass that was not confusing but it wasn't what I expected.

After we learnt all the skills we had a game I was nervous because I was not very good at it but it was worth a try. I stood at the back because I wasn't good we had a close game but we lost but it was fun to learn a new sport. Sadly that was the last minis but we're going to do it again next week.

Wassily Kandinksy

Wassily Kandinksy was born in December 16th 1866 in Russia. His mum was a homemaker and his dad was a tea merchant.

From an early age Wassily exhibited a gift called synaesthesia cognate.   This gave him the ability to hear colour and see sound.

Kandinksy studied art and law at the University of Moscow before becoming a Professor. 3 years later at the age of 30 he moved to Munich, Germany. He was interested in creating sketches of the human body.

Once the First World War started, in 1914, Kandinsky moved from Germany to Switzerland and to home in Moscow. He created some impressionist art works and continued working with colors.

After the First World War. Kandinksy moved back to Germany and started creating abstract pieces of artwork. He used half circles, straight line, curves and lots of colour.

By 1933, the Nazis took over his art school and forced him to move to France. Kandinksy died in 1944.

Term 2 Swimming

Swimming for the first time of the year I wonder what it is going to be like this year. I all ways wounded when the next swimming lesson was going to be. “Madness! Why hadn’t I remembered my togs” I sead to myself.

Melted Crayon

This term our topic is Art Alive it means we are learning about art and artists. Room 13 was going to do some art. Melting crayons I thought would be colorful, but I did not know how the crayons were going to melt.

First step was to put all the crayons in order from warm to cold colours I carefully carried it on to the table to glue the crayons with the hot glue gun. As the rest of my group painted the stencil on a canvas. To make it stay together we sellotaped the crayons to the top of the canvas.

Finally we were on our last step melting the crayons with a hair dryer. I got to go first. It took awhile for them to start melting. But the only problem was that when the melted crayon goes on the sellotape it splatters the crayon everywhere. My team thought it was going to make it look funny, but our artwork actually turned out well.

The Mobius Strip

A Mobius strip is a piece of paper that people call magic, I think that it is magic. Our class made one. It was difficult because I had to be careful and it is also confusing. If you want to know how to make it, well I will tell you how to.
First you have to cut a strip of paper. Twist one of the ends and then join them together with sellotape then get a pen or a crayon and twist the paper around till ends met cut along the line and then you will find that it becomes a bigger circle.
