Fiafia
Hi my name is Brandon and I’m in Kapa Haka for Fiafia. Fiafia is something Pt England School does every two years. We are doing this because it is the School’s 60th anniversary. There are a mixture of groups, and the students get to say their top 3 choices. They will be going to one of those groups. Most of the time people go to their first choice, but not everyone gets their first selection.
The tutors for Kapa Haka, my group, are Whaea Sophie and for the junior Kapa Haka Miss Tito and Miss Wild. Whaea Sophie taught us all a maori song that she wrote. I like the boy’s haka that Whaea Sophie wrote.
I like the costume, because the boys are going to get moko’s and the girls are going to get piupius. Another thing I like about Kapa Haka is that I am Maori and that is my culture. I can’t wait until the night.
Fiafia starts at 7.00pm Thursday the 18th of April, and dinner is from 4.30 to 6.30 pm. See you there!
Kia Ora Brandon. Well done on writing this post. I like how you have clearly explained the background to our upcoming Fiafia. It's great that you have chosen to be in Kapa Haka this year. I think it's really important for Kiwi kids to experience this. It's such a valuable experience. I look forward to watching you during our Fiafia Brandon.
