Will I am Donating $100,000

Today one of the biggest stars in the world!  Came to our school. Will I Am! yes Will I Am came to help out Manaiakalani a lot by donating $100,000 in person and I got to do kapa haka to him. He has his own charity called I am Angel he is a Recording artist, song writer, philanthropist  and also a band called Black Eyed Peas. The thing that inspired me was when he seed "chose the best friends there is be cause friends are the only reason that he is a star". Thanks to I am Angel.

Fiafia night

Fiafia was awesome!. The big night was on the 18th of april 2013 60th birthday for point england school. 6:00 pm the students had to get dressed and 7:15 pm had the opening pray one in tongan and one in Maori  I was in the Kapa haka group and the Kapa haka was the first item. Getting changed was fun I liked watching the girls getting their Moko's. Walking up the steps onto the stage outside because we couldn't do it in the assembly hall because it was too small. When the I done the haka I got stage fright. But when we done a song with the junior Kapa haka I couldn't sing properly. But it was fun I can't wait for the next Fiafia.

Hi my name is Brandon and I’m in Kapa Haka for Fiafia. Fiafia is something Pt England School does every two years. We are doing this because it is the School’s 60th anniversary. There are a mixture of groups, and the students get to say their  top 3 choices. They will be going to one of those groups. Most of the time people go to their first choice, but not everyone gets their first selection.

The tutors for Kapa Haka, my group, are Whaea Sophie and for the junior Kapa Haka Miss Tito and Miss Wild. Whaea Sophie taught us all a maori song that she wrote. I like the boy’s haka that  Whaea Sophie wrote.

I like the costume, because the boys are going to get moko’s and the girls are going to get piupius. Another thing I like about Kapa Haka is that I am Maori and that is my culture. I can’t wait until the night.

Fiafia starts at 7.00pm Thursday the 18th of April, and dinner is from 4.30 to 6.30 pm. See you there!

I am going to find out: How clean/dirty the water around G.I is

I am going to test this by: Putting the water into jar’s to see how clean/dirty the water is

Resources and equipment: 4 samples of the water around Omaru creek and the sea and the tap water

Results of my tests

Sea Water	Clean, but cloudy
Tap water	transparent and clean
Omaru Creek water by culvert	Green and dark pieces
Omaru Creek water by bridge	light green

My conclusion (what I found out): sea water is almost transparent

Why I think this is: Because lot’s of plants/fish clean the water

Mangere Pools camp

As our final camp activity we all went to the awesome Mangere Pools. It was day 3 of the Year 5/6 camp and I didn't realise that it would go so fast. I just wished that we would make the most of it. As we arrived at Moana nui a kiwa I wanted to jump straight into the Pool. Sitting down on the grass we had to watch the good swimmers race and I hated it. I wanted to swim myself I was furious.

There was a slide attached to the diving pool. The long blue slide led off to the volcano pool where it is not so deep. Every time someone goes down the line of kids brought the sponge board up for the next person to have a turn. The slide was cool once you got half way down and then you start speeding up I thought it was fun.

We had ten more minutes and that was when the bombing pools opened. The last bomb I tried was the worst because I slipped as I jumped off the diving board and the first jump I tried was a front flip. Me and my friends then started leaping in and out of the pool trying to have as many turns as I could.

I was proud that I had a lot of fun I hope that I can go back there once more time.
