Cross Country
feathery dead bird on the track at Pt England School’s Cross Country.
As we walked to the start line, we were filled with nervous excitement. This year it was a new, and much longer course - heaps of people would be watching too! “Take your marks!” instructed Mr Burt and off we took with determination and perseverance.
Running over the rocks, my legs began to feel like wobbly jelly and my lungs were bursting. Oh no! This was only the beginning!
Twisting and turning along the winding path, the race felt never ending. “Ouch, Ouch” I said over and over ,my feet were killing me. I had lost my shoes at the start and running in my socks was painful.
My spirits lifted as I spied Miss Va’afusuaga and Feki dancing at finish line. I gave a burst of speed and collapsed over the line, relieved and exhausted.
Excitement spread across my face as I knew this horrible day was finally over. Oh No! I nearly forgot - we have to do it alla gain next year.

Buzzy Bee and Tiki
Kiaora
And welcome to New Zealand I bet that you have come to see the Rugby World Cup. You are very welcome to be in this beautiful country. NZ is a very unique land there are many
different cultures living here all together.
Do you actually know what a tiki is? I’m guessing not? The
term tiki refers to a carved human figure and is part of Maori and
other Pacific culture. Its a Mystery finding out about the myth for
how Tiki got its name. On the other `side, in many parts of Pacific
islands, for example in Niue ,the Tiki myth is unknown and human
figures were not carved but they still had a tiki.Buzzy Bee is the most famous toy in New Zealand many Buzzy Bees have been sold in many country’s in New Zealand. Nearly every child has a Buzzy Bee to play with in New Zealand.

Badminton
Last week room 13 had badminton. Donna showed us how to hit a shuttle and serve.
Then Donna showed us how to play badminton soccer she split us in to two groups.
To play the game of badminton soccer you have to hit the shuttle, you have to have quick body movement to hit the shuttle over the net. If you hit it over the white line you are out.
Then we had a little play of hitting the shuttle over the net.
Room13 really likes Donna and badminton soccer.
